Eyedoo is the brainchild of Bob Forgan, an optical innovator with over 40 years’ experience of the global optical industry. He wanted to develop a direct to consumer business that could provide glasses wearers with stylish, high-quality eyewear at affordable prices, but at the same time give something back by working with Vision Care for Homeless People, a UK charity which provides services that can truly change and improve lives.
When Bob entered the industry in 1974, all spectacle lenses were made of glass and had to be shaped by hand (with some frames still being made from ‘real’ tortoiseshell). Having seen the many changes in the optical supply sector he has a real in-depth understanding of lenses and frames.
Bob has been instrumental in some pivotal industry developments over the past 40 years, within the supermarket, pharmacy and optical sectors. Prior to the launch of Eyedoo, he was Managing Director of one of the UK’s leading optical laboratories.
Using his extensive optical knowledge and manufacturing contacts throughout the world, Bob has drawn on their expertise to develop an exceptional offering of top quality frames and lenses that allows Eyedoo’s customers to have Beautiful and Practical eyewear at Affordable pricing
Every purchase from Eyedoo includes a 5% donation to our chosen charity; Vision Care for Homeless People (the VAT goes to the Government unfortunately).
In common with all charities funding is crucial and for every order you place with Eyedoo we make a contribution to this worthwhile organisation that can help improve the life of others.
Imagine if everything you saw was out of focus, how would your life be affected? Now imagine if you were homeless and couldn’t see.
